Rietavas
Lithuania
Rietavas, a small town in the Samogitia region of Lithuania, holds a notable place in the country's technological history: it was here that Lithuania's first electricity-generating power station was built, in 1892, and the country's first telephone line was also established here. The town sits on the Jūra River and is home to the 1873 Church of St. Archangel Michael, the Oginski manor, and a museum dedicated to the Oginski family's cultural history.
