Plungė, a town in Lithuania's Samogitia region, is known for its manor and park complex, where the Samogitian Art Museum occupies the historic Plungė Manor. The park also contains the Perkūnas oak, a protected natural monument. A Lourdes grotto built in 1905 draws visitors to the town, which is divided by the Babrungas River. The centre holds a monument marking the tenth anniversary of Lithuanian independence and a sculpture of Saint Florian, made by the book carrier Kazys Barzdys.
