Tistrup, a tiny railway town in southwestern Jutland, hosts an annual state-recognised art exhibition — the Kunstnernes Sommerudstilling — held in the Janus Building, where local artists including Bjarke Regn Svendsen and Hans Tyrrestrup exhibit. Southwest of the village, the site of Snorup marks a significant Iron Age centre for iron production. Tistrup lies on the Esbjerg–Struer line and was the site of late 19th-century archaeological excavations led by Captain A. P. Madsen of the Museum of Northern Antiquities.
