Vejle

Denmark

Fjord city in southern Jutland where forested hills, wetland valleys, and a harbour converge at the head of Vejle Fjord, with a walkable centre dense with historic churches, cafés, and restaurants. First mentioned in 1256 and granted town privileges in 1327, Vejle sits within the Triangle Region alongside Kolding and Fredericia, and the steep fjord slopes on both sides of the city rise to their greatest heights around Munkebjerg.
