Pheriche

This high-altitude stop on the Mount Everest trek in Nepal's Khumbu region, Pheriche sits above the Tsola River inside Sagarmatha National Park and serves as a key acclimatization point for trekkers and climbers heading to Base Camp. The village has numerous tea houses and lodges, and a seasonal rescue hospital run by the Himalayan Rescue Association — open during the March–May and October–December trekking seasons — that also functions as an evacuation point.
