Nanche Bazar
Nepal
High in the Khumbu region of northeastern Nepal, Namche Bazaar serves as the main hub for trekkers and climbers heading toward Mount Everest base camp, and functions as the principal trading centre for the surrounding area. The village sits on the sides of a hill at considerable elevation, with most of its population engaged in tourism. It has a Wikivoyage entry reflecting steady independent traveller interest, and the wider Khumbu region includes UNESCO World Heritage-listed sites.
