Mjoelby
Sweden
This modest Swedish town in Östergötland on the banks of the Svartån river, Mjölby takes its name from the mills that once worked the river's rapids. The fertile surrounding plains made it a natural milling site, and the town marked the northernmost point reached by Småland rebels during the Dacke War of 1542–1543. A central core of cafés and restaurants serves the town today, a short distance west of the county seat Linköping.
