Known for its modern art museum, cherry harvests, and bullfighting tradition, Céret is a tiny Catalan town in southern France's Pyrénées-Orientales, sitting on the River Tech at the foot of the Pyrenees. First mentioned in records from 814, it played a role in the 1659 Treaty of the Pyrenees and served as capital of the historic Vallespir comarca. Vineyards surround the town, and a café and restaurant scene gives it more life than its size might suggest.
