Welland
Canada
A waterfront city in Ontario's Niagara Region, Welland is built around the historic Welland Canal, which connects Lake Erie and Lake Ontario and shaped the city's development from its earliest days. The walkable centre has a good spread of cafés, restaurants, and historic churches, and the city sits within a short drive of Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake. Welland also has one of southern Ontario's higher concentrations of Franco-Ontarian residents, giving it a bilingual character uncommon in the region.
