Weidenberg

Germany

A pocket-sized market town in Bavaria's Bayreuth district, Weidenberg sits in mountain terrain where the Ölschnitz river meets the Red Main. The remains of a medieval castle, the Burgstall Schlosshügel, lie nearby, and the wider region is ringed by UNESCO World Heritage sites. Weidenberg also serves as the administrative seat for the surrounding Verwaltungsgemeinschaft, which includes the communities of Emtmannsberg, Kirchenpingarten, and Seybothenreuth.
