Buttenheim

Buttenheim, a little market town in Upper Franconia between Bamberg and Nuremberg, is the birthplace of Levi Strauss, who emigrated to the United States in 1847 and went on to invent blue jeans. The town sits in the Regnitz Valley and lies within reach of several UNESCO World Heritage sites in the wider region.
