Vrhnika

This small Slovenian town on the Ljubljanica River, Vrhnika sits near the river's springs at the geological boundary between karst terrain and the Ljubljana Marshes, a short drive from Ljubljana. It is the birthplace of the writer Ivan Cankar, whose memorial house is open to visitors, and the town centre holds a modest café and restaurant scene.
