Veliko Ubeljsko

Slovenia

A small hamlet on the eastern slopes of the Nanos Plateau in Slovenia's Inner Carniola region, Veliko Ubeljsko is known locally for its annual "Potato Night" festival, held each August with a tradition stretching back more than four decades. Two streams run through the settlement, and the surrounding terrain — a mix of fields, meadows, and pasture rising toward limestone slopes — sits within a wider region ringed by UNESCO World Heritage sites.
