This small Greek town in Aetolia-Acarnania with a notably active café and restaurant scene and several historic churches, set in mountain terrain between Lake Trichonida — the largest natural lake in Greece — and the regional border with Evrytania. The area around Thermo takes its name from the ancient city of Thermos nearby, and a village within the municipality was the birthplace of Cosmas of Aetolia.
