This pocket-sized Estonian village in Tartu County set beside Suure-Kambja lake, through which the Peeda river flows. The lake was restored in 1995 and is bordered by a forest park. The former manor estate grounds contain two larches estimated at around 250 years old, considered the oldest of their species in Estonia. The village was also the birthplace of Estonian politician Karl Eduard Kompus (1903–1942).
