Bang & Olufsen, Denmark's only radio and television manufacturer, was founded just outside this little Jutland town in 1925 and remains its dominant employer, with a dedicated exhibition at the Struer Museum displaying the company's products alongside Danish design furniture. The town grew rapidly after the railway arrived in 1865, eventually becoming one of Denmark's most important rail junctions, and its central station building is among the oldest still standing in the country. Struer sits on the water and has a small café and restaurant scene in its centre.
