Trading town in northern Jutland bisected by the Storå river, Holstebro has a walkable centre built around a network of pedestrian streets — including one of Denmark's oldest permanent pedestrianised routes, laid out in 1963. The town is known for its cultural life, particularly Odin Teatret, and the streetscape is marked by a collection of modern sculptures and public artworks. Cafés and restaurants line the centre, which runs between Store Torv and Brotorvet.
