The royal capital of Negeri Sembilan state, Seri Menanti is a valley town in central Malaysia surrounded by the rolling hills of the Titiwangsa Range and home to the Istana Besar (Grand Palace), seat of the Yang Di-Pertuan Besar. A short drive east of Seremban, it sits within a region historically governed through a traditional adat system, with surrounding chiefdoms collectively known as Luak Tanah Mengandung.
