Portela das Cabras
Portugal
Portela das Cabras, a former civil parish in the Vila Verde municipality of northern Portugal, sits in the drainage basin of the Neiva and Cávado rivers. Its name — meaning "pass of the goats" — reflects a tradition of naming mountain-pass settlements, and the old Roman road linking Braga to Astorga once ran through here, with visible remains still in the parish. In 2013 it merged into the broader parish of Ribeira do Neiva.
