Pingtung City

Taiwan

Known across Taiwan as the "Sun City" for having the longest annual sunshine hours in the country, Pingtung City is a tropical, flat-terrain county seat in southern Taiwan with mountains visible on the horizon and a café and restaurant scene dense for its size. Historically called Akaw, it sits within the greater Kaohsiung metropolitan area and retains a notable concentration of churches alongside military-era residential villages built for air force families after World War II.
