Leenane
Ireland
Leenane sits on the south shore of Killary Harbour, Ireland's only fjord, where County Galway meets County Mayo across the water. The village is surrounded by sparse mountain terrain and served as the filming location for Jim Sheridan's 1990 film *The Field*. The Irish name, An Líonán, means roughly "where the tide fills," and the fjord setting gives the place a distinctly dramatic character.
