Le Lamentin
Martinique
Martinique's largest town by area and its industrial and economic hub, Le Lamentin sits where mountain terrain meets the coast on this French Caribbean island. The second most populous settlement on the island after Fort-de-France, it takes its name from the manatee — a reminder of the wildlife once common in these waters — and sits within reach of UNESCO World Heritage sites in the wider region.
