Laukaa, a municipality next to Jyväskylä in Central Finland, is home to Saraakallio, the largest Stone Age rock painting site in Fennoscandia, with the oldest paintings dating back around 6,600 years. The municipality is largely forested and lake-scattered, with water making up a substantial portion of its total area. Its largest settlements include Laukaa kirkonkylä, Lievestuore, Leppävesi, and Vihtavuori.
