L'Isle-Jourdain
Gers · France
Tiny town in the Gers department of southwestern France, L'Isle-Jourdain sits on the River Save and carries a café and restaurant scene that holds a surprising number of options for its size. The collegiate church of Saint-Martin, a listed monument, houses one of the last working Romantic organs in Europe. The lexicographers Claude and Paul Augé were born here, and the town lies within the orbit of Toulouse, with vineyards in the surrounding Gascon countryside.
