This compact town in Tarn-et-Garonne, Occitanie, has a town centre bordered on both sides by the Garonne River and the Garonne Lateral Canal — part of the Canal des Deux Mers — giving it a distinctly waterside character. Locally known as "Castel," it sits on the main transport corridor between Bordeaux and Narbonne via Toulouse, and is served by a rail station on the Bordeaux–Toulouse line.
