Kiidjärve

Estonia

This small village in southeastern Estonia beside the Ahja River and the Saesaare Reservoir, which includes a hydroelectric power station. The surrounding area takes in the Valgesoo Bog, a protected landscape. A railway halt connects Kiidjärve to Tartu in around 45 minutes, though only one train a day runs the route. The village is also home to Maarja Küla, a residential facility for young adults with learning disabilities.
