Issigeac
Dordogne · France
A pocket-sized medieval village in the Bergerac wine-growing region of the Dordogne, Issigeac is built on a circular plan with largely original half-timbered houses ringing a 17th-century Bishop's Palace and the remains of 13th-century walls. A Sunday morning market brings local producers selling wine, meat, fruit, and vegetables, and the village has a modest but real café and restaurant scene for its size.
