A tiny forested village in the mountains of Vorarlberg, Austria, Fraxern sits at elevation above the town of Feldkirch, with meadows and woodland covering most of its area. First recorded in 1127 under the name "Fraxnara," meaning ash, it has several historic churches for a settlement of its size and vineyards in the surrounding landscape.
