A small hamlet in the Hautes-Pyrénées, Esterre sits alongside the Bastan river within the Pyrénées National Park, surrounded by mountain scenery and scenic viewpoints. Part of the historic Lavedan province — a cluster of seven valleys upstream from Lourdes — the village holds an unusual number of cafés, restaurants, and churches for its size, and lies within reach of several UNESCO World Heritage sites in the wider region.
