Elva

Estonia

This little Estonian town in Tartu County with two lakes at its centre — Lake Verevi, with a sandy beach popular in summer, and the reed-fringed Lake Arbi — plus a café scene in its compact core. The Elva river draws canoeists past old water mill sites, and in winter the town serves as the finish point of the Tartu Marathon, a 60-kilometre cross-country ski race from Otepää that is part of the Worldloppet series.
