Barca d’Alva

Tiny Portuguese village on the Douro river, right at the border with Spain, set within the Douro International Natural Park and surrounded by the vineyards that define this stretch of wine country. The boundary between Portugal and Spain runs along the Douro and Águeda rivers just at the village's edge, placing it in one of the more dramatically situated spots in the Beiras e Serra da Estrela region.
