Small Portuguese town near the Mondego River in the Guarda District, Celorico da Beira is self-styled as the capital of Serra da Estrela cheese, produced in the surrounding municipality in quantity and quality that supports the claim. The medieval castle is the principal monument, vineyards ring the area, and the Serra da Estrela mountains are visible from town. A café and restaurant scene serves the compact centre.
