This Pyrenean spa town in Haute-Garonne, Bagnères-de-Luchon — commonly called Luchon — combines thermal baths with a ski area at Luchon-Superbagnères, reachable by cable car from the town. The Pique and other mountain rivers run through the commune, which sits amid three Natura 2000 protected zones. A café and restaurant scene supports the town's role as a base for the surrounding valleys, and its historic centre holds several listed buildings including the Thermes Chambert, the casino, and a cluster of Belle Époque villas.
