Xidi

Xidi and the nearby village of Hongcun together form the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as "Ancient Villages in Southern Anhui," recognised in 2000 for their exceptional preservation of rural Anhui architecture and medieval Chinese village planning. Set in the Huizhou region of Anhui province, Xidi holds China's highest national tourism designation and has received top marks from the Michelin travel guide for its distinctive architectural style. The village sits close to water and within sight of mountains.
