Villa Alemana
Villa Alemana · Chile
Founded in 1894 by Italian and German immigrants — a heritage still visible in its municipal flag, which incorporates the German imperial colours — Villa Alemana is a city in Chile's Valparaíso Region and part of the Greater Valparaíso metropolitan area. Nicknamed the City of Eternal Youth for its mild climate and the City of Windmills for the wind-powered pumps that once dotted its country estates, it sits close to the mountains and within reach of the UNESCO-recognised wider region around Valparaíso.
