Serbia

This compact town in eastern Serbia where the Danube and Pek rivers meet, Veliko Gradište sits beside Silver Lake and has served as a local centre since at least 1381, when it appears in a charter of Prince Lazar. The town holds a National Museum and hosts the recurring Carevčevi Dani festival, with UNESCO World Heritage sites in the wider region.
