Part of the Douro's "Wine Villages Route," Trevões is a tiny village in the Viseu district of Portugal with a history stretching back to a municipal seat established in 1159. Its historic centre holds ancient houses, a church with frescoes, and two museums — one covering local rural life, the other religious art. The GR 14 long-distance footpath passes through, and the village is the birthplace of the philosopher José Maria da Cunha Seixas.
