This port city on Madagascar's southwestern coast along the Mozambique Channel, Toliara is the largest city in the country's south and a regional hub with a walkable centre offering a range of cafés and restaurants. The southern terminus of the national Route 7, it serves as a major import and export point for commodities including sisal, cotton, rice, and peanuts, and sits near the Tropic of Capricorn.
