Tapah

Malaysia

This little Malaysian town in Perak that serves as one of the two main gateway points to Cameron Highlands, Tapah sits at the foot of the Titiwangsa Range and offers a modest but real café and restaurant scene for a settlement of its size. Its name comes from the tapah, a freshwater fish (Wallago attu) native to the region. Travellers passing through en route to the highlands will find it a practical and characterful stop.
