Strokestown, a planned village in County Roscommon, is home to Strokestown Park House, an 18th-century mansion that holds the National Famine Museum. One of Ireland's few formally planned settlements, it features one of the country's widest streets and is designated one of Ireland's 27 Heritage Towns. The village sits within the Ireland's Hidden Heartlands tourism region, within reach of both lakes and mountains.
