Strandhill
Ireland
This surfing village on the south shore of Sligo Bay, Strandhill faces west onto a broad sandy beach backed by the steep scarp of Knocknarea. It developed as a seaside resort in the early 20th century and has since become a base for surfers. A short drive from Sligo town, the village sits on the Coolera Peninsula with the hill rising sharply behind it.
