Little village in the southern Gard, near Nîmes, set in Mediterranean wine country and drained by several small streams. Two historic churches — Saint-Étienne d'Escattes and Saint-André, both listed as monuments historiques since 1949 — make up the core of its architectural heritage, alongside a natural zone of ecological interest. The wider region holds several UNESCO World Heritage sites within reach.
