Solsona

Spain

This tiny Catalan town in the province of Lleida serves as the seat of the Diocese of Solsona and holds an unusual concentration of historic churches for its size, alongside a café-filled central core. Its pre-Romanesque image of the Virgin of the Cloister is a long-standing focus of local devotion, and the town's Carnival and Corpus Christi celebrations are among its most prominent annual events. Vineyards in the surrounding comarca and mountain views in the wider landscape round out the setting.
