Şişli
Istanbul · Türkiye
This dense, walkable district on Istanbul's European side, Şişli holds a concentration of cafés, restaurants, and churches alongside modern commercial centres and historic sites. Separated from the Bosphorus waterfront by neighbouring Beşiktaş, it sits within reach of the wider city's UNESCO-listed heritage. A sub-district of Beyoğlu until 1954, when it became its own district, Şişli is ranked by Turkey's Ministry of Industry and Technology as the country's most developed district.
