Mountain town in Western Macedonia that flourished as a prosperous Greek commercial centre during the Ottoman period, Siatista retains a dense concentration of monuments and architectural ensembles from that era, earning it official designation as a traditional settlement. Built on the southern slopes of Mount Askio, the town is the seat of the Voio municipality and sits a short drive southwest of Kozani, with a compact central core of cafés and restaurants and many historic churches for its size.
