This eastern parish of Coimbra forms the most populated part of a city already dense with historic churches, walkable streets, and a strong food-and-drink scene. Named in 1836 for Anthony of Padua — who joined the local Franciscan order here in the early 13th century — Santo António dos Olivais sits close to the wider region's UNESCO World Heritage sites and within reach of both water and mountain terrain.
