Samborondón

Town on the right bank of the Babahoyo River in Ecuador's Guayas province, Samborondón is known as the Equestrian Capital of Ecuador for its deep-rooted horse-riding tradition and active equine culture. Part of the greater Guayaquil metropolitan area, it functions as a significant commercial and agricultural centre, with origins dating to the 17th century and rapid urban growth from the mid-20th century onward.
