Roppongi, a district in central Tokyo's Minato ward, is best known for its nightlife scene — much of it oriented toward foreign visitors — and for the Roppongi Hills upscale shopping, dining, and residential complex. Several foreign embassies are located in or near the area. By day, the district draws visitors to its museums and large commercial complexes; the quieter residential neighbourhood of Azabu extends to the south and west, home to many diplomats and wealthy locals.
