Punta Ballena is a coastal resort peninsula in Uruguay's Maldonado Department, notable as the only rocky cliff face on the Uruguayan coast along the Río de la Plata. Designated as geological heritage, the site's geology is considered to have scientific, educational, and tourist value. The peninsula stretches across a series of beaches and landforms, and its vegetation includes plant species with varying degrees of endemism.
