Prizren
Kosovo
Kosovo's constitutional historical capital, Prizren sits on the Prizren River against the foothills of the Sharr Mountains in the south of the country, with a well-preserved old town dense with mosques, monasteries, and churches dating to the 14th century. The city served as capital of the Serbian Empire under Stefan Dušan and later hosted the League of Prizren, the 19th-century centre of Albanian nationalism. A lively café and restaurant scene fills the centre, and scenic viewpoints are within easy reach.
